Are you visiting Pittsburgh during the holiday season? This weekly blog series will highlight the best views of the city you won't want to miss while you're here.
Today we begin with the West End Overlook. It is also referred to as the Elliot Overlook due to its location in Pittsburgh's Elliot Neighborhood.
The West End Overlook offers an ideal view of the Golden Triangle, the point where the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers meet to form the Ohio. The best time to photograph this view of the city is the late afternoon as the sun sets behind you.
The West End-Elliot Overlook Park was renovated in 2003 and includes stone benches and an air-conditioned building that has a wall of full-length glass windows, with restrooms and an observation deck.
